Dr. Sarah Mitchell

About Me

I’m Sebnem Dural, a Trauma-Informed Somatic Practitioner and NeuroAffective Touch Foundation Graduate, with a background in Psychology from Northeastern University.

My work centers on developmental and relational healing through the body and nervous system.

I’m deeply interested in how early experiences shape the way we experience ourselves, others, and the world around us. Many of these experiences exist beyond words, held not only in memory, but in sensation, physiology, emotional patterns, and the ways the nervous system learned to adapt over time.

Often, what once helped us survive can continue to shape how we experience connection, safety, boundaries, rest, self-worth, and the ability to remain present with ourselves and others.

In our work together, I integrate NeuroAffective Touch, somatic approaches, parts work, and breathwork within a relational and trauma-informed framework. I work with a strong emphasis on attunement, pacing, co-regulation, and nervous system safety, allowing the process to unfold gradually, rather than pushing toward intensity, catharsis, or immediate change.

I support individuals working with experiences such as developmental trauma, shame, eating disorders, emotional numbness, dissociation, protective adaptations, and challenges with connection or self-regulation. These experiences are often deeply relational in nature and may continue to live within the body and nervous system long after the original experiences have passed.

Alongside my private practice, I have experience in clinical and hospital settings, supporting emotional well-being through somatic and breath-based approaches, including work with medical professionals navigating stress and burnout. I continue to engage in ongoing supervision and advanced training in developmental trauma, attachment, somatic psychotherapy, and nervous system regulation.

I work with individuals globally and also offer talks and workshops that bridge clinical understanding with lived, embodied experience in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and deeply human.

At times, this work may involve slowing down enough to notice what has long been carried alone.

Not to force change,
but to create the conditions where something new can begin to emerge.

Sometimes, what supports change is not only what we do,
but the experience of no longer having to move through it entirely on your own.

This work is not about fixing you.
